מגזרות נייר יהודיות הן פריטי אמנות עממית שהיו נפוצים בקהילות יהודיות שונות עד מלחמת העולם השנייה, ובולטים בהם מגוון מאפיינים סגנוניים שהושאלו מאמנות גבוהה ומאמנות עממית מקומית. המגזרת היהודית המוקדמת ביותר הידועה היא מספרד מ-1345. לשיאה הגיעה אמנות זו בקהילות היהודיות של מזרח אירופה במאות ה-19 וה-20. סגנונן של המגזרות בתקופה זו מכונה, בשל עושרן הרב, “הבארוק היהודי”.
הצלליות הן אמנות חיתוך קווי מתאר או דיוקנאות מתוך נייר בצבע שחור. מרבית אמני חיתוכי הצלליות המודרניים משתמשים בשיטות מסורתיות, קיים גם תוספת של סגנון ועיצובים מודרניים. אמנות החיתוך העכשווית קשורה לפעמים ליצירת שבלונות, שהן נגזרת של טכניקה המשמשת בגרפיטי וזכתה להכרה בשנים האחרונות הודות לאמנים כמו בנקסי.
עולמה של אלינה מוקף במוסיקה וביצירתיות. כבר בילדותה למדה לצייר ולנגן.
כנראה שלא במקרה, בעבודות שלה הקצב והמוסיקה תמיד חשובים לה.
למדה טכניקות אמנות שונות וכבר בישראל – עיצוב גרפי.
בקייב, התחילה לגזור נייר תחת השפעת אמנות דקורטיבית עממית.
בשנת 1991 עלתה לארץ והתגוררה בירושלים. והבינה את חשיבות מגזרות הנייר דווקא כחלק מאומנות היהודית .
ארץ ישראל, העיר העתיקה, אווירת ירושלים, עוררו בה השראה לעשות עבודות חדשות בסגנון יודאיקה.
עכשיו זו הטכניקה העיקרית בה אלינה משתמשת בגרפיקה- עם מספריים וסכין סקלפל ביד.
לאורך השנים אלינה חתכה מנייר תמונות בכל הגדלים, עיצבה כתובות, ברכות, מנורות, כרטסי ברכה ותמיד מנסה לחשוב על דרכים חדשות ליישם את היצירה שלה.
לאחר שנים של יצירה בטכניקה של גזירה, כיום, אלינה גוזרת לא רק בסגנון יודאיקה, אלא מנסה גם לאפשר לצופה לחלום ולעורר בו מחשבות.

במקביל ליצירה מאז 1994, עבדה כעורכת אמנותית ומפיקה פרסומים בכירה ,כאחראית במחלקת ההוצאה לאור של רשות העתיקות, ופרויקטים חדשים.
עיצבה חומרים פרסומיים לקראת פתיחת המוזיאון שומרוני הטוב כולל עיצוב והפקה קטלוג.
אלינה יוצרת בטכניקות אמנות שונות: ציור, גרפיקה, קרמיקה, מגזרות נייר, יודאיקה ובפרט כתובּות, וכן איור ועיצוב ספרים וכתבי-עת.
עבודותיה פורסמו בארט-אנציקלופדיה של אמנים יוצאי רוסיה בישראל (2016). עיצבה חומרים פרסומיים לקראת פתיחת מוזאון “שומרוני הטוב״ וגם קטלוג צבעוני בן 300 עמודים של המוזאון.
העבודות האהובות עליה, ”בזרם” – המציגה את מחזור החיים האינסופי על המים,
התמונה הראשונה בסדרת “ים”.
באוויר ועל היבשה. ”מזרח-מערב” שיצרה תחת השפעת השירים שכתבה אמא. התהפכות החיים מ״מערב״ ל״מזרח״, כאשר
מעגל החיים! החיים נמצאים בכל מקום: בים, בשמיים וביבשה.
זרם החיים הסוער ממהר בביטחון כמו דג ענק במערבולת מים. ולכולם יש כאן מקום, וירושלים הזהובה (למעלה מימין) מאירה את הזרם הזה באור ונותנת לו כוח.
הכל משתנה ומתהפך בחיים כשעוברים מ”מערב “ל”מזרח”, אך ירושלים הופכת למוקד השקט הנפשי.
אורסה מייג’ור במדינות הדרום (ישראל) מסתכל הפוך בשמיים, בניגוד למדינות הצפון (מדינות אירופה).
כל החיים משתנים, אך כמו אצל יין ויאנג, הכל קשור בלא הפרדה זה לזה.
בעבודה זו אני מספרת את סיפור חיי בו יש ילדות ונעורים באוקראינה ובגרות בישראל.
ירושלים מחברת בין שני ההפכים הללו.
אריה, סמל ירושלים, שמחזיר אותי לאיזון והרמוניה.
הכל הופך להרמוני בין צפון, דרום, מערב ומזרח בירושלים הקסומה.
בטכניקה של גזירה, היא יוצרת מגוון סגנונות, משתמשת בנייר צבעוני, סכין והמון פנטזיה ומחשבה.
השתתפה בתערוכות שונות.
השתתפה בירידים ובתערוכות שונות: תערוכות בבית אות המוצר הירושלמי; מוזיאון קסטל, מעלה אדומים; ביריד הבינלאומי החוצות היוצר, ירושלים; פסטיבל אאוטליין, ירושלים ואחרים.
עבודותיה נמצאות באוספים פרטיים בישראל, ארה”ב, אוסטרליה, אנגליה, קנדה ומדינות נוספות.
הסטודיו שלה נמצאת בביתה במעלה אדומים, ליד ירושלים, שתמיד הייתה ונותרת מקור השראה עבורה.
Alina Yoffe-Pikovsky
My name is Alina Pikovsky and I am a papercut artist for more than 30 years. In all my years of learning and cutting in this delicate art direction, I surpassed a lot of designing and cutting techniques, some old school and derived from the greatest artist of this direction. Other, on the directly opposite side, completely new and innovative ways of working with paper that I also learned a lot from my colleagues in this direction, but most of all developed and improved myself, step by step, year by year.
Besides being a papercut artist, I am a painter, a thing that helped me a lot to create and improve my own style of papercutting, and sometimes even resulted in combining these two techniques together for great works.
Since I started making my works, it was very important to me to show the Jewish motives in them. As papercutting art developed in Europe, it became also a very popular art direction in many Jewish communities. So popular that it even generated it’s own unique style and motives, that i am proud to continue nowadays, and not in Europe, but in Israel, the holy land.
It is a big passion of mine, arts, especially papercuting, and I would like to share it with all of you, art lovers!

In the Stream
The first picture in the series “Sea”
The cycle of life! Life is everywhere: in the sea, in the sky and on land.
The stormy stream of life confidently rushes like a huge fish in a whirlpool of water. And for everyone there is a place here, and the Golden Jerusalem (top right) illuminates this stream with light and gives it strength.
Jerusalem Lion
Jerusalem for me is not just a city where I live, it is a city with tremendous energy that nourishes and inspires me. The extraordinary atmosphere of Jerusalem, its old streets, windows, the Old City, the Western Wall – all of this fills me with energy and inspires me to do new works on the theme of this fantastic city! The Jerusalem lion is a symbol of Jerusalem!
The lion is the symbol of the tribe of Yehuda and the royal house of David! He protects the city, gives it the strength and nobility of the king of beasts!
West-East (Mizrah-Maarav)
Everything changes and turns upside down in life when moving from “West” to “East”, but Jerusalem becomes the center of peace of mind.
Ursa Major in the southern countries (Israel) looks upside down in the sky, in contrast to the northern countries (European countries).
All life changes, but as in Yin and Yang, everything is inextricably linked with each other.
In this work I tell the story of my life in which there is childhood and youth in Ukraine and maturity in Israel.
Jerusalem connects these two opposites.
Lion, the symbol of Jerusalem, which brings me back to balance and harmony.
Everything becomes harmonious between North, South, West and East in magical Jerusalem.
Worked in the Israel Antiquities Authority as an Art Editor, Senior Graphic Designer and Print Production, in the Israel Antiquities Authority in the ward of Judea and Samaria publications.
A member of the Paper Cutters Guild in Israel.
Creates in various art techniques – painting, graphics, traditional Jewish papercut, Judaica and ketubboth, graphics for print editions (illustrations for books and magazines).
I have studied various art techniques and, while already in Israel, Graphic Design
Since 1991 participated in different individual and group exhibitions and fairs-exhibitions (including Moshe Castel Museum of Art, Maale Adummim; Hutzoth Ha-Yotzer, Jerusalem; Outline Festival, Jerusalem; Jerusalem House of Quality, Jerusalem; Exhibitions of “Harmony” Cultural Center, Jerusalem and other ).
