אורלי גלנץ: ציור כמרחב של תנועה, רגש ולידה מחדש

אורלי גלנץ פועלת בעולם האמנות מתוך חיבור עמוק ובלתי מתפשר למעשה הציור עצמו. זהו חיבור שמתחיל כבר בילדות, עוד מימי בית הספר, ומלווה אותה ברצף מתמשך של עשייה, חקירה ולמידה. עבור אורלי, הציור הוא מקום של שקט, התכנסות ובריחה לעולם פנימי, מרחב שבו הזמן מתרכך והנפש נרגעת. הקנבס הריק עבורה הוא הזמנה, אתגר וסקרנות מתמדת למה שעתיד להיוולד עליו.

את דרכה האמנותית החלה במסגרת לימודי אמנות בתיכון, ובהמשך המשיכה לצייר באופן עקבי לאורך השנים, לצד התנסויות מגוונות בפיסול, פסיפס ועבודה בבטון. למרות המגוון, הציור נותר המרכז הבלתי מעורער. הוא המקום שבו מתקיים תהליך מזכך, לעיתים מורכב ומאתגר, אך תמיד כזה שמוביל להתבהרות פנימית.

התפתחותה כאמנית נבנתה מתוך התמדה בלימודים אצל אמנים ומורים שונים, לפחות פעם בשבוע, ללא קשר לעיסוקים אחרים. בשנים האחרונות למדה אצל גיל דסיאנו ביטון ואריק וונטורה, חוויה שסימנה עבורה תפנית משמעותית והובילה אותה לעולם הציור האבסטרקטי. דרך מפגש זה נפתח בפניה מרחב חדש, חופשי ומרתק, אליו התחברה באופן מיידי. במקביל, העמיקה בלימודי תולדות האמנות באוניברסיטת תל אביב, מתוך רצון להבין את התפתחות הציור לאורך הדורות, את השיטות, הטכניקות והמודלים של אמנים שונים. לימודי עיצוב הפנים שבאו בהמשך איפשרו לה לשלב את אהבתה לטקסטורות, פטרנים וחיבורי צבעים, שהם בעיניה לב העוצמה בציוריה.

העבודות של אורלי נטועות בשיח עם אמני האבסטרקט הגדולים, בהם ג’קסון פולוק וז’אן מישל בסקייה, לצד אמנים פיגורטיביים הנעים על גבול האבסטרקט, כמו מאטיס, ואן גוך ודיוויד הוקני. היא נמשכת במיוחד לרוח התקופה של אנדי וורהול והמעגל שסביבו, תקופה של פריצת גבולות, הבעה חופשית ואמירה ישירה ללא פשרות. לצד זאת, האמנות היפנית משפיעה עליה עמוקות דרך הניקיון, האסתטיקה, השימוש בטקסטורות ובפטרנים, והיכולת לייצר עומק ושקט שמזמינים התבוננות ממושכת.

ההשראה ליצירותיה מגיעה ממקורות חיצוניים כמו אדריכלות אורבנית, טבע, צמחייה ונופים, אך בעיקר מתוך עולמה הפנימי. הציור עבור אורלי הוא תהליך של חשיפה אישית ואינטימית, ביטוי לרגשות, מחשבות, לבטים ותהליכים שהיא עוברת. בשנתיים האחרונות, לאחר חוויות מורכבות ומשמעותיות, וחוויה אישית שלה לאחר חוויות אישיות עמוקות שחוותה, מאז האירועים הקשים של הנובה, בהם בתה נכחה ועברה את החוויה המטלטלת, והתמודדות ארוכה עם תהליך ההחלמה שלה, לצד טיול משותף שעברו יחד, הגיעה נקודת מפנה משמעותית. זה היה שלב של לידה מחדש. מתוך המקום הזה נפרץ גל של יצירה, ציורים שנשפכו אל הבד בכנות ובעוצמה, ומהם צמחה תקופה חדשה של אופטימיות, תקווה ולידה מחודשת של השפה האמנותית של העבודות משקפות תחושה ברורה של לידה מחדש, שינוי והתחדשות עמוקה.

תהליך היצירה שלה מתחיל בדחף חזק לעמוד מול הקנבס. משם מגיעה בחירת פלטת צבעים מצומצמת יחסית, לרוב שניים או שלושה צבעים, דרכם היא יוצרת ניסיונות וחיבורים שונים. הצביעה הראשונית מלווה תמיד במוזיקה, שמכוונת, משחררת ומובילה את הרגש. בהמשך מתפתח תהליך ארוך של קבלת החלטות, התלבטויות ושכבות, תוך שימוש בגירים ובחומרים נוספים. המוזיקה מהווה מצפן פנימי, והעשייה כולה נחווית כתרפיה עמוקה.

בפרויקט הנוכחי מציירת אורלי על בד כותנה גולמית מאה אחוז, חומר שמאפשר לצבע להיספג בצורה טבעית וייחודית, וליצור מראה מט, אוורירי וראשוני. רוב העבודות הן בפורמטים גדולים, המעניקים לציור נוכחות מרשימה ומזמינים את הצופה להתבוננות מתמשכת, כזו שאינה מסתיימת, אלא מאפשרת לכל אחד להיכנס לעולמו האישי ולעבור תהליך פנימי משלו.

הטכניקה שבה היא משתמשת משלבת צבעי אקריליק מדוללים מאוד, היוצרים מראה מונוכרומטי המזכיר צבעי מים, לצד גירים צבעוניים שמוסיפים נפח ומסגרת. הניגוד בין הצבע הזורם והחופשי לבין הגיר הנוקשה והסוגר מייצר מתח חזותי מעניין, תחושה של תנועה בלתי פוסקת מול שליטה חלקית. הדילול והחומריות מעניקים לעבודות אופי שקט, טבעי ונקי.

האמירה האמנותית של אורלי גלנץ ברורה ונטולת מילים. הציור חושף את עולמה הפנימי ומאפשר לצופה הצצה לתהליכים אישיים עמוקים. עם זאת, ההתבוננות בציור אינה נשארת רק בניסיון להבין את האמנית, אלא מובילה את הצופה להישאר עם עצמו, עם מחשבותיו ורגשותיו. בתוך הזרימה, התנועה והשכבות, נוצר מרחב של שקט, התבוננות והקשבה פנימית.

רבים מהציורים משדרים תחושה חזקה של תנועה, כמעט אשליה של תזוזה מול העיניים. עבור אורלי, התנועה היא ביטוי לרצון קיומי, לחיים עצמם. תנועה מעגלית, נשית, אינסופית, שמייצגת שלמות, סגירת מעגלים והשלמה עם הקיים. טקסטורות ותבניות, מבחינתה, אינן נגמרות לעולם, והציור יכול היה להמשיך ללא סוף אל מעבר לגבולות הבד.

Orly Glantz: Painting as a Space of Movement, Emotion, and Rebirth

Orly Glantz works within the world of art through a deep and uncompromising connection to the act of painting itself. This connection began in early childhood, during her school years, and has accompanied her through a continuous journey of creation, exploration, and learning. For Orly, painting is a place of quiet, introspection, and retreat into an inner world, a space where time softens and the soul finds calm. The blank canvas represents an invitation, a challenge, and an ongoing curiosity about what is yet to emerge.

Her artistic path began with formal art studies in high school and continued through years of consistent practice, alongside explorations in sculpture, mosaic, and concrete work. Despite this diversity, painting has always remained at the core. It is the space where a purifying process takes place, sometimes complex and demanding, yet always leading to inner clarity.

Orly’s development as an artist was shaped by persistent study with various artists and painting instructors, at least once a week, regardless of other professional pursuits. In recent years, she studied with Gil Dasiano Bitton and Eric Ventura, an experience that marked a significant turning point and led her into the world of abstract painting. Through this encounter, a new, open, and fascinating visual language unfolded, one she connected to immediately. At the same time, she deepened her knowledge through studies in art history at Tel Aviv University, seeking to understand the historical evolution of painting, techniques, artistic models, and working methods across different periods. Later, her studies in interior design allowed her to integrate her love for textures, patterns, and, most importantly, color relationships, which she views as the true strength of her paintings.

Her work engages in dialogue with major abstract artists such as Jackson Pollock and Jean-Michel Basquiat, alongside figurative artists operating on the edge of abstraction, including Matisse, Van Gogh, and David Hockney. She is particularly drawn to the spirit of the Andy Warhol era and the circle around him, a time of artistic awakening characterized by bold expression, boundary breaking, and unapologetic freedom. In parallel, Japanese art deeply influences her through its sense of purity, aesthetics, patterns, and textures, offering a rich, emotional, and complex visual world that invites prolonged contemplation.

Inspiration for Orly’s work emerges from external sources such as urban architecture, nature, vegetation, and landscapes, but above all from her inner world. Painting serves as a process of personal and intimate exposure, a channel for emotions, thoughts, dilemmas, and inner transformations. Over the past two years, following complex and meaningful life experiences, her recent works clearly reflect a sense of rebirth, transformation, and renewal.

Her creative process begins with a strong inner urge to stand before the canvas. This is followed by the selection of a limited color palette, usually two or three colors, through which she explores various combinations and experiments. The initial layers are applied while listening to music, which guides her emotionally and helps release feeling onto the surface. From there, the process unfolds slowly, accompanied by constant decision making, hesitation, and layering, using chalks and additional materials. Music serves as an internal compass, and the entire act of creation is experienced as a deeply therapeutic process.

In her current project, Orly paints on one hundred percent raw cotton canvas, a material that allows the paint to absorb naturally into the fabric, creating a matte, airy, and primal appearance. Most of the works are large scale, giving the paintings a powerful presence and inviting extended contemplation. The experience does not end with observation, but allows viewers to enter their own inner world and undergo a personal process of reflection.

Her technique combines highly diluted acrylic paints, producing a monochromatic, watercolor-like effect, together with colored chalks that add volume and structure. The contrast between the flowing, uncontrolled paint and the firm, grounding chalk creates visual tension and a sense of continuous movement. The dilution and materiality give the works a calm, natural, and refined character.

The artistic statement of Orly Glantz is clear and wordless. Her paintings expose her inner world and offer viewers a glimpse into deeply personal processes. Yet the act of looking soon shifts from trying to understand the artist to remaining with oneself. Within the flow, movement, and layered surfaces, a space of quiet, introspection, and inner listening emerges.

Many of her works convey a strong sense of movement, almost an illusion of motion before the eyes. For Orly, movement represents existence itself. Circular, feminine, infinite movement symbolizes wholeness, the closing of cycles, and acceptance of life as it is. Textures and patterns, in her view, never truly end, and painting could theoretically continue endlessly beyond the boundaries of the canvas.

Her aspiration is for her works to bring an optimistic presence into living spaces, offering strength, calm, and emotional resonance. Paintings that invite curiosity, inspiration, and a quiet yet powerful energy that accompanes evetyday life with depth. motion. and light.
