דניאל צברי משיכות שמן אל מחוזות האור ההולנדי
דניאל צוברי הוא אמן שהצעד הראשון שלו בעולם היצירה התחיל כבר בילדות, כשהרגיש קשר עמוק לציור הקלאסי וליכולת לייצר תחושת עומק תלת ממדית על משטח דו ממדי. משיכה זו לא הייתה רגע חולף, אלא נקודת התחלה לקריירה שלמה ובה התפתחה שפה אמנותית אישית, מלאה רגישות ודיוק.
צוברי למד אצל אמנים מובילים בארץ, אצל דנה זלצמן ובהמשך העמיק את ידיעותיו ב”סטודיו התחנה” בתל אביב. השלב המשמעותי ביותר בהתפתחותו הגיע באיטליה, שם חי ולמד שלוש שנים. שם נבנתה אצלו המיומנות הגבוהה בעבודה מול מודלים, פורטרטים ודומם, אך דווקא הדומם ובעיקר הפרחים הפך למקום שבו מצא את ליבו.
הוא הושפע עמוקות מהאמנות ההולנדית של המאה ה־17 ומהציירים הבוטניים של אותה תקופה, ובמיוחד מהאמן William van Aelst, שיכולת האור, הפרטים הדקים והקומפוזיציות המדויקות שלו השפיעו על גישתו של צוברי אל הבד.
השראה זו משתלבת באופן הדוק עם זיכרונות ילדותו: מוצאו הפיני ונסיעותיו הרבות לפינלנד חשפו אותו לנופי טבע רחבי־ידיים, לאור צפוני עדין ולשקט עמוק. אותו שקט פנימי, אותו מרחב פסטורלי, נוכחים עד היום בכל ציור שהוא יוצר.
תהליך היצירה של צוברי בנוי משכבות גם במובן הפיזי וגם במובן הרעיוני. הכול מתחיל ברעיון, בדימוי, או ברגע שהטבע מעניק לו. משם הוא עובר לשלב הסקיצות, לעיתים בפחם או בעיפרון, ולאחר מכן לשכבת underpainting בשחור לבן שמייצרת את האור, הצל והמבנה. רק אחרי שהבסיס מתגבש, מתחילה עבודת השמן, שנבנית בארבע שכבות צבע המעצימות שקיפות, עומק ומרקם. כיום הוא עובד, בין השאר, על ציור גדול בהשראת קומפוזיציות של המאה ה־17, שלוקח את שפתו האישית צעד נוסף קדימה.
רוב עבודותיו מתמקדות בפרחים יצורים קצרי חיים שיופיים הרגעי הוא לב ליבה של יצירתו. הוא שואף ללכוד את אותו רגע לפני קמילה, את השיא שבין חי לנובל, ולכן בוחר לרוב בפלטת צבעים קרה, המעניקה תחושת שלווה וריחוק עדין. פעמים רבות משלב גם אלמנטים קטנים מהטבע המייצגים מחזור חיים, ובהם שבלול קטן שהפך לדימוי עצמי כמעט קבוע. לצד זאת הוא מצייר גם פורטרטים, אך תמיד חוזר אל הדומם, המקום שבו האור, החומר והרגש נפגשים באופן המדויק ביותר עבורו.
בישראל הציג צוברי בתערוכות קבוצתיות בולטות, בהן “חי צומח דומם” בתאו בהרצליה ותערוכה בגלריית בורן. בכל אחת מהן ניכרת גישתו המכבדת למסורת ההולנדית לא חיקוי, אלא דיאלוג של ממש. הוא נוגע בעקרונות המאה ה־17 אך מעניק להם פרשנות עכשווית, מלאה חמלה, התבוננות וחיבור עמוק לטבע.
צוברי הוא אמן ששואף להעניק לצופה תחושת רוגע, להכניס אותו אל רגע שבין נשימה אחת לבאה.

Daniel zuberi Classical Oil Painting Inspired by Dutch Seventeenth Century Masters
Daniel zuberi is a painter whose artistic path began in childhood, when he felt a natural attraction to classical painting and to the challenge of creating three dimensional depth on a two dimensional surface. This early fascination evolved into a mature artistic language shaped through years of study and exploration.
daniel trained with leading artists in Israel and continued his journey at Studio HaTachana in Tel Aviv.and studied with dana zaltzman.
A significant turning point in his development took place in Italy, where he lived and studied for three years. There he refined his skills in working with live models, portraiture, and still life. Yet it was the world of still life, especially flowers, that captured his heart most deeply. His strongest artistic influence comes from the Dutch painters of the seventeenth century, particularly the botanical artist William van Aelst. zuberi is inspired by their refined detail, mastery of light, and their ability to portray beauty in a fleeting moment.
These influences connect naturally with his personal history. His Finnish roots and frequent childhood trips to Finland exposed him to vast landscapes, gentle northern light, and profound quiet. The serenity and spaciousness of those memories continue to inform the atmosphere of his paintings.
zuberi creative process unfolds in thoughtful stages. Each work begins with an idea or visual spark, followed by a series of sketches in pencil or charcoal.
He then constructs an underpainting in black and white to establish light and shadow. Only after this foundation is complete does he begin building the painting through multiple layers of oil. His technique typically includes four layers of color that gradually form depth, transparency, and subtle texture. He is currently working on a large painting inspired by seventeenth century still life compositions.
Although zuberi occasionally paints portraits, his primary devotion is to floral still life. Flowers, with their brief and delicate existence, allow him to explore themes of transience and quiet beauty. He often works with a cool color palette to evoke calmness and clarity. Many of his paintings also include small natural symbols like a snail, a recurring motif representing the cycle of life and a simple, personal self symbol.
zuberi has exhibited in several group shows in Israel, including the exhibition “Hai Tzomeach Domem” at the TEO Center in Herzliya and a group exhibition at Born Gallery. His work honors the Dutch classical tradition with great respect, yet brings a contemporary sensitivity that is uniquely his.
Daniel offers viewers a moment of stillness, an encounter with beauty that feels intimate and timeless. His paintings are an invitation to pause, breathe, and observe the quiet poetry found in the natural world.
